BJ’s Restaurant and Brew House: One Awesome Restaurant 

            Recently I wanted to try a new place to go out to eat.  I was not sure of where I wanted to go, but I knew what I was looking for.  I wanted a place where I could go and hang out with friends, have some drinks, great food, and service.  Also, I wanted to find a place where I could watch a big sports game while I enjoyed delicious food and drink. After doing some research, I found a new restaurant in town called BJ’s Restaurant and Brew House

           My girlfriend had been to BJ’s before and she said it was a great restaurant.  When decided to try out this new restaurant for myself I was a bit nervous since I had personally never been there before.  Immediately when I walked into the place I knew I would like it. We were greeted right away, and then taken to our table just a few minutes later.  The whole atmosphere was a fun one to me.  When I sat down and looked around, everyone was laughing and just having a great time.  Not more than few moments after we had sat down our waiter was introducing himself, asking about drinks, and making recommendations. He was very friendly and outgoing, which made the trip even better.

Televisions in the Bar Area

       Thus far BJ’s was just the place I had been looking for.  There were television all around which are showing current sports games.  This allows BJ’s to be a great place to go out and watch the game at.  In the bar area, they had four televisions next to each other. Sometimes they are connected, showing the same game, or they have their own images. That is what I call an awesome screen for you viewing pleasure.

After looking over the menu I noticed they had so many choices of different drinks they made which include mixed drinks, their own brewed beer, hand-crafted, and an assortment of other drinks. Personally when I go out I like to enjoy a cold beer with my food and BJ’s had just the stuff. They have over 10 of their own handcrafted beers so there are plenty of options to choose from.  (BJsrestaraunt.com, 2012)

Best Beginnings Appetizer

When I go out to eat I love ordering appetizers.  BJ’s offers numerous different appetizers, some are for the individual, others you can share.  On this trip my girlfriend and I ordered an appetizer that was recommended to us by our waiter, The Best Beginnings.  This amazing dish consists of their four most delicious and most popular appetizers.  You get spinach and artichoke dip, mozzarella sticks, avocado egg rolls, and santa fe spring rolls.  All of these are delicious and there is plenty of food to start between the two of us.

Crispy Jalapeno Burger and French Fries

After we were done eating our appetizer it was time for our entrees.  They have burgers, pasta, pizza, salads, and USDA choice Angus steaks.  After much thought, I decided to go with their new crispy jalapeño burger with a turkey patty.  This was recommended to me by our waiter.   We did not wait more than 20 minutes for our food to arrive.  When I first saw my meal was astonished at how big the burger was.  I had to cut it in half just to eat.  The burger itself was cooked to perfection with perfect blend of taste. I could taste the tender turkey patty, with the melted cheese, chipotle mayo, and crispy jalapeños.  All of those tastes together really created a wonderful flavor that I enjoyed.  After setting down half of my burger, I started to eat some of the french fries that came along with the burger.  These fries had a taste all to their own.  They were thin, with the perfect mix of crispy and soft.  In all honesty, they were the best french fries I have ever eaten at a restaurant.  All throughout eating this delicious meal, our waiter was checking up on us, making sure everything was good and we had what we needed. I could not eat all of my entrée because the portions were more than enough for one person to eat.

Oreo Pizookie

     After we were done eating, our waiter came over to us and asked if we had saved any room for dessert.  This is the part of the meal where I normally say “no” and get the check and leave.  The waiter had convinced us to order their famous Pizookie.  We were informed that there are numerous flavors to choose from, and we had chosen the flavor Oreo.  Upon receiving our dessert my senses went crazy. The smell of the dish is one that will make your mouth water.  When I looked at the dish I just wanted to dig in.  This Pizookie comes in a round pan, topped with ice cream and whip cream. The Pizookie itself is sort of a cookie and brownie mixed together. It looks like a brownie but tastes like a cookie.  It is warm and the texture of a mostly cooked cookie.  The edges have a perfect crunch of a cookie, while the inside is soft like a brownie.  This amazing creation mixed with ice cream certainly will satisfy any sweet tooth.

After we were finished with our delicious dessert, the waiter promptly brought the check and asked us how our visit was. All I could say is I was nothing but impressed.  The service was absolutely amazing, the food was to die for, and atmosphere was a very enjoyable one.  When it came down to the expenses, I did not think the bill was too bad. It was 35 dollars for my girlfriend and I eat. This included my beer, our appetizer, our entrees, and the amazing dessert.  For the portion size, I felt as though 35 dollars was pretty cheap since, we both had left overs to take home.

My first visit was definitely a memorable one.  It made me considered BJ’s to be one of my favorite restaurants to go out too.  The wide variety of drinks and food puts BJ’s in a class of its’ own.  The atmosphere and entertainment make it a great time out with friends and family for any occasion.
